Lobelia cardinalis

Bright red with purple foliage this one likes its feet wet - and that's what it gets on the pond shelf.

Libertia 'Taupo Blaze'

This is a lovely evergreen grass with green/brown striped leaves which glow and which has delicate little white flowers amongst the leaves in Spring. Very happy making.

Lamium 'Pink pewter'

Around the wigwam in the Veg bed. Very pretty ground cover for shade or sun with variegated green/silver leaves and pretty light pink flowers.

Knautia macedonia 'Melton Pastels'

Pretty the first year but didn't re-show in 2012 which is a shame since they are a tall version (1.2 m height and spread).

Juncus xiphoides

Has appeared ever since but is not a very intersting rush. Small and delicate.

Jasminium nudiflorum

This winter Jasmine brings welcome colour in midwinter and I need to prune it harder when it has finished flowering.

Chaenomeles superba 'Crimson and gold'

A bit swamped by everything else but the glimpses of bright red amongst the blue and green of the Clematis tangutica are lovely in Spring.

Iris pseudocorus

Very reliable but a bit of a thug foliage wise with small flowers. This one has also burst out of its pond planter.

Iris laevigata

Very reliable, big and strong despite Pickle treading all over it. It has burst out of its pond planter.

Hydrangea arborescens 'Annabelle'

This one is supposed to have large clusters of white flowers on strong stems with beautiful seed heads once it has flowered and I hope it sticks to its promise of working out of direct sunlight because it is in the new, North facing, front bed.
